Daria Alyoshkina
paper artist
Daria Alyoshkina is an artist who not only revived the ancient Ukrainian art of vytynanka but also transformed it into a modern art form, revealing its beauty to the world through her monumental works. Her deep love for vytynanka began in her childhood, spent in a picturesque Ukrainian village. It was there that Daria discovered the tradition, learned to "read" the symbols, feel their presence, and understand the profound essence of the surrounding nature.

Daria Alyoshkina was born on March 5, 1982, in Kyiv to a family of sculptors — Oleksa and Lyudmyla Alyoshkin. She spent her childhood in the Vinnytsia region.

• 2001 — graduated from the V. Yu. Shkriblyak College of Arts in Vyzhnytsia (Chernivtsi region).
• 2007 — obtained a master's degree in monumental and decorative sculpture from the Lviv National Academy of Arts.
She works in the fields of sculpture, vytynanka, and graphics.
Since 2010, she has represented Ukraine on the international stage, showcasing her large-format vytynankas in Poland, Germany, France, South Korea, Canada, the USA, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, and other countries.

Artist statement
My creativity is born from memory — both personal and collective. I work with paper cutting as a living tradition that has passed through generations but is capable of speaking the language of today. In the delicate paper, I am attracted by its fragility and at the same time its strength: from a simple material emerge monumental images in which history, symbols, feminine energy, myth, and modernity intertwine.
